An orchestral musician, chamber musician and often soloist, Xavier is a horn player with a strong presence on the Montreal and Quebec scene. He performs a vast repertoire ranging from early music to new music. A member of the Katcor Quartet and of the Kaleïo Wind Quintet, he occasionally joins the ancient instrument ensembles Les Lys Naissants and Arion Orchestre Baroque.

In addition to his positions at the Sherbrooke and Laval symphony orchestras, he regularly works with several orchestras including the Violons du Roy, I Musici, the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, the Orchestre Métropolitain and the symphony orchestras of Trois-Rivières, Quebec City and Montreal. Graduate of McGill University and the Conservatory of Amsterdam, he studied modern music in the Amsterdam-based Ensemble Asko / Schönberg under the direction of Reinbert de Leeuw as well as in natural horn with the Dutch soloist Teunis van Der Zwart. Xavier teaches horn and chamber music at the Lionel-Groulx College of Sainte-Thérèse, Joseph-François-Perrault de Montréal High School, and at the Camp musical des Laurentides.
