An active musician, Marc Denis is Associate Principal Bass at the Orchestre Métropolitain, Principal Bass with the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil and the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens.

While continuing his many activities as a professional musician, it is very important for Marc Denis to teach. In addition to being a double bass teacher at the Université de Montréal, Mr. Denis also teaches at UQAM, the Vincent-d'Indy School of Music and the Vanier College.

Marc Denis is also an active chamber musician, regularly playing with ensembles such as the l'Orchestre de chambre de Longueuil, Les Violons du Roy, Sinfonia de Lanaudière, Ensemble Appassionata, Ensemble KIOSQUE, Ensemble Les Petits Violons and the McGill Chamber Orchestra. Recently, Marc Denis was invited as a Principal Bass by the Knowlton Festival Orchestra under the direction of Kent Nagano.

Mr. Denis often plays with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the National Arts Center Orchestra, and is a graduate of the Université de Montréal and McGill University where he was twice the recipient of the Nathalie Clair-Feldman Interpretative Award. Marc Denis studied under the direction of Jacques Beaudouin, Michael Leiter, Dennis James and Anthony DiChiaro.
