First violins

First Prize in violin and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and First place in the Canadian Music Competition, Johanne Morin went to London, England, for two years to study with Jose Luis Garcia, thanks to grants from the Ministère des Affaires Culturelles du Québec. She played in Europe, Asia, North and South America with chamber music groups and on tour with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Johanne Morin has been a member of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne since 2000 and is also assistant concertmaster of the Orchestre Métropolitain and the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, and solo Second violin of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval (by interim). Johanne is the violinist of Trio Iberia. She is also teaching violin at Curé-Antoine-Labelle High School in Laval. Since 2009, Johanne is a member of the Société pour les arts en milieux de santé (SAMS), playing to residents and patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
