Graduate from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 1986, Jocelyn Veilleux received First Prizes in horn and Chamber music. He then pursued his training at the Université de Montréal, where he completed a Master's Degree in Performance in 1992.
Jocelyn Veilleux has been Principal Horn of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval since 1986. He also plays with the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens and the I Musici Ensemble. A member of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and the AltsysJazz Orchestra, he regularly participates in various jazz, film music and pop recordings.
He has been heard with the natural, classical and baroque horn, with ensembles such as the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, Arion Ensemble, the New York Society of Early Music and the Washington Bach Consort. He has already performed as a soloist with the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Orchestre de chambre de l'Estrie, Les Violons du Roy and Les Jeunes Virtuoses de Montréal. Mr. Veilleux is professor of horn at Concordia University, at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent, at the Collège Marie-Victorin and at the Collège Vanier.
