Jacques Tardif studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, at McGill University and at the Johannesson International School of the Arts in Vancouver (bass and electric bass). He has been Assistant Principal of the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières since 1983 and has been a founding member of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval since 1985. As a freelance musician, Mr. Tardif also played with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the National Arts Center Orchestra, the Opéra de Montréal, the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens and several other ensembles.

He has participated in several TV and radio recordings. In addition to his career as an instrumentalist, he has been teaching at Mother Laval Junior Academy for 28 years. In this school, he founded a music program focused on computer-aided sound design. In 2007 Mr. Tardif was named Professor Emeritus by Apple Canada. He is now part of the prestigious Apple Distinguished Educators, whose mission is to develop educational content on the Web. He is also the founder and president of Groupe Hypermedia, a firm that designs websites, corporate films and filming with drones.
