Alexandre Gagnier began studying music at twelve and has since given himself the mission of making the sound of his instrument as delicate and pleasant as possible, which is a challenge when one takes into account the fact that he chose the Bass Trombone.
His studies began at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec with Andrew Clayden. Subsequently he studied with the Conductor and soloist Alain Trudel at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal where he received a First Prize. Former member of the I Tromboni Trombone Quintet, he has toured all over the country performing more than 100 concerts a year. Alexandre is a member of the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens, the Orchestre symphonique de Laval and the Orchestre symphonique de Drummondville.
Apart from his musical activities he is co-founder and Manager of the Coopérative des professeurs de musique.
