Lise Beauchamp is one of the most sought after oboists in Canada. Principal Oboe of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal (under Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin) and of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval since 1993, she is regularly invited to play and record with the best ensembles in Quebec.
As a soloist, she has played with les Violons du Roy, I Musici de Montréal, the Orchestre Métropolitain, the Orchestre symphonique de Laval and the Orchestre baroque de Montréal. She has played on more than sixty recordings. A native of Montreal, she studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she received First Prizes in 1985, and at the Juilliard School of New York, graduating in 1990 with a Master’s Degree. Her teachers include Bernard Jean and Elaine Douvas.
In 1988, she was Principal Oboist of the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra. She teaches oboe and chamber music at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and at the Université de Montréal.
